Core Knowledge

The Core Knowledge Scope and Sequence supports every child’s ability to meet high academic standards. Core Knowledge's fundamental belief is to educate children in a way that fosters cultural literacy and expands their understanding of the world around them. The scope and sequence of the Core Knowledge curriculum also helps students prepare for the upcoming learning experiences and eliminates repetitions or gaps that occur in traditional programs. The Core Knowledge Sequence builds on prior knowledge, allowing the student to understand the introduction of new material because it is built on a solid foundation. Cologne Academy aligns our curriculum to satisfy both Minnesota Standards and the rigorous standards of Core Knowledge. Core Knowledge is infused in all subject areas including: Language Arts, Math, Science, History and Geography.

In addition to the core subjects, Cologne Academy K-8 scholars also will have Spanish, physical education, music, and art.
